Food Safety Issues
Collaboration with international organizations relating to the issues of food safety becomes more and more important in the field of food safety. FDA officials, currently, participate in numerous international conferences, meetings, workshops and training programs in order to present our position and viewpoints, but also to gather information, which will be very helpful for developing our policies and guidelines in the future.
Numerous programs and projects relating to food safety are carried out through communication and collaboration with international organizations, for example:
Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO)
Japan International Cooperation Association (JICA)
FAO/WHO – Codex committee meetings, Global Forum on Food Regulator Meeting
ASEAN - such as Working Group on Prepared Foodstuff, ASEAN Expert Group on Food Safety
